LINCOLN – The staff and students at Lincoln Central Elementary School are dog people. In two weeks, students raised more than $10,000 for Cumberland’s Hotel for Homeless Dogs, an animal care facility and adoption center located on Martin Street.
Teachers Alesandra Pina and Erin Prochet said Central tries to do at least two community service projects per year. Last fall, the school collected food for a local pantry, and this spring, students and families participated in a fundraiser for the Cumberland animal facility. The class that raised the most money within a two-week period earned a pizza and puppy party.
