Puppy farm dog “beaten” and dumped on roadside set to live best life

A dog who endured a history of abuse is still coming to terms with her new lifestyle of luxury and love.

The cocker spaniel‘s previous life consisted of nothing but horrible torture. She was beaten. Trying to escape her cage, she broke her teeth on her metal dog crate. She lived in her feces stuck in her ears and belly. Then once that was enough, the person tossed her inside her cage to the side of the road.

TikTok user @pawfect.rescues explained this dog’s story, referring to her as a “puppy farmed.” Although she is safe and sound, the owner is still working to gain the dog’s trust. But who can blame the dog? After a life of abuse, it’s no wonder the dog doesn’t know how to get comfortable in a safe and loving home.

The dog isn’t used to having toys and a doggy bed. A June 12 TikTok video shows the dog trying to curl herself onto padded stairs that looked to be used to help small dog breeds onto the couch. To her, the slanted, uneven stairs were still a level above her previous life and she was going to take what was put in front of her.

“If people are that cruel to treat her so badly, you never know what they’re like in person,” the TikToker told Newsweek.

Although this dog has plenty in her new home—dog beds, blankets, toys—she still doesn’t feel comfortable enough to fully lean into being a well-loved dog. But as it is for any rescue dog, it will take time for her to come out of her shell.

The owner said in the comment section that she is working with the dog every day, but it’s still a challenge. “It’s like ten steps back every other day. But I’ll not give up. She just needs so much love.”

Viewer Reactions

The TikTok video reached over 217,900 likes, 8,769 likes and 407 comments as of Monday.

“I don’t understand how people can hurt something so innocent and so much smaller than them. Thanks for doing what you do,” said one viewer.

Another added: “Breaks my heart! Animal cruelty is a crime. Bless you for providing a loving environment. Going to be a long road.”

A third person said: “What monsters. All I want is to hold her and let her know nothing will hurt her again.”

The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
