Puppy Bowl features dogs from Arizona animal organizations

While many watched the Eagles defeat the Chiefs in the Super Bowl Sunday evening, some pet lovers also saw the annual Puppy Bowl event featuring puppies from Arizona animal shelters.

Hosted on Animal Planet, the Puppy Bowl seeks to bring awareness of pet adoption.

Christy Cole of Desert Harbor Doberman Rescue says Felicity, the organization’s participating Doberman Pinscher, was prepared.

“We started training her how to run after toys because the ultimate objective of the Puppy Bowl is that they run into the end zone with a toy in their mouth,” she said.

Arizona Humane Society and Nagi Foundation was also represented.

Animals from the Arizona Humane Society, Nagi Foundation and Desert Harbor Doberman Rescue all participated.

Sheila Iyengar said the Nagi Foundation has participated before in the annual event and was represented by a mixed-breed puppy.

“She is named after the Akimel O’odham tribe that is represented in Salt River, and so this is our second time attending Puppy Bowl, and we’re actually the first ever Native-led organization to be represented at Puppy Bowl,” she said.

Iyengar said it is exciting that all animal organizations work well together.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
