Prairie dogs proliferate near PEFO

When the playful prairie dogs started to outnumber the human inhabitants at Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site near Ganado, it was clear they needed a new home. In a unique partnership to protect these energetic creatures known as Gunnison’s prairie dogs, Petrified Forest National Park teamed up with the historic site to relocate them. This initiative aims to move the animals from areas where they clash with human activities to places where they can thrive in peace.

With support from a National Park Foundation grant, biologists from Petrified Forest National Park are carefully capturing the prairie dogs and transporting them to established colonies within the park. Here, they can continue their vital role in the ecosystem without causing issues for their human neighbors.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
