MANCHESTER, CT — Animal control officials in Manchester are trying to identify a potential suspect in a dog abandonment investigation who was captured on camera.
On Saturday, animal control officials said two dogs were found abandoned near 29 Cottage St.
After reviewing area video footage, a person was seen walking the two dogs on the corner of Maple and Spruce streets at 8 p.m. Friday. That person is being identified as “a young Black male” with short hair, animal control officials said. He was last seen headed down Spruce Street toward Charter Oak Park.

Residents of the area being asked to check video footage from between 8 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday, when the dogs were found abandoned at a basketball court near Cottage Street. Any footage may be sent directly to fisherb@manchesterct.gov, authorities said.
Members of the public are being asked to refrain from making adoption inquiries until the investigation is closed.
