Postal worker severely injured after being mauled by dog, sheriff’s office says

LINCOLN CO., Tenn. (WAFF/Gray News) – A United States Postal Service worker in Tennessee was mauled by a dog on Saturday while delivering a package.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, a large dog jumped onto the postal worker and latched onto her arm.

Authorities said the woman tried to get the dog off her arm, but she had to use dog spray before it would let go.

She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The dog was later confiscated by animal control.

Deputies made contact with the owner over the phone and told him about the attack. He couldn’t provide them with a copy of the dog’s rabies vaccine when asked.

Last year, USPS reported there had been more than 5,800 dog bite cases.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
