Worcester police seek public’s help to find owner of emaciated, abused dog
Worcester, Massachusetts, police are seeking help to identify the owner of an abused pit bull found emaciated and injured. Worcester police were called to Chandler Street, where a caller said he found the male pit bull near a liquor store at Chandler and Main streets within the past week. The man was trying to nurse it back to health, but the dog was severely emaciated and suffering from severe injuries to his face and legs, police said. The officer carried the dog to her vehicle because it could not walk. The dog was treated at an emergency veterinary hospital. He is now being cared for by Broken Tail Rescue, Inc., which has named him Phoenix. They are looking for donations for his care.The Worcester Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance to find the owner of this dog. Anyone with information is asked to Animal Control at 508-799-1211. Tips will be kept anonymous.
