Two dogs surrounded by swift-moving floodwaters were rescued on Friday afternoon in Galt, and an investigation is underway to locate the owner of the dogs.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Wilder Way and Wise Way, near the Dry Creek Preserve area, regarding an animal cruelty investigation, according to the Galt Police Department. The caller reportedly witnessed two dogs tied to a leash stuck on an embankment with water quickly rising and surrounding them, police said.
