Police dog helps track break-in suspect after 5-mile trek in Northern Michigan

BLAIR TOWNSHIP, MI – A dog with the Michigan State Police helped track a break-in suspect across five miles in Northern Michigan early Tuesday.

According to the MSP Seventh District, troopers from the Traverse City post were called to respond to a home invasion complaint in Blair Township at roughly 8 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, in central Grand Traverse County.

After an initial investigation, police said the homeowner spotted a woman in his driveway from his Ring doorbell camera before she entered the residence and left with an unspecified number of items.

Trooper Matt Unterbrink and his police dog partner Ox responded to the scene to assist finding the female subject.

After the lengthy trek, she was tracked to an area with thick vegetation, police said.

Identified as a 44-year-old Kingsley woman, she was soon after arrested and lodged in the Grand Traverse County Jail awaiting multiple charges.

MSP shared the news on its social media Tuesday.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
