Police: 3 Bloomington officers attacked, bitten by suspect’s dogs during arrest

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Three Bloomington police officers were reportedly wounded in a dog attack they say was ordered by the animals’ owner.

A Bloomington police officer spotted a woman who was known to have active warrants for her arrest along the B-Line Trail near West Country Club Drive Friday, Aug. 2. While the officer attempted to take the woman into custody, police say she ran away and ordered her dogs to attack the officer multiple times.

The officer was bitten multiple times by the dogs, according to a police report.

Two other officers who helped take the woman into custody were also bitten on the thigh when she reportedly ordered the dogs to attack.

The woman was taken to jail for the active warrants, along with preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement and three counts of battery on a public safety officer resulting in injury.

(NOTE: 13News has a policy not to name suspects until formal charges are filed by a prosecutor.)

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
