Police: 2 dogs hurt in SE Portland shooting

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – Two dogs were hurt during a shooting in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood Sunday night, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

At about 10:47 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 7100 block of Southeast 60th Avenue, near Brentwood City Park. Police say an investigation showed that an area resident was out with their two dogs when someone inside a vehicle fired shots.

The dogs’ owner was not hit but the two dogs were hurt. Police say it appears one of the dogs was shot, while the other was hit by shrapnel. Both of the dogs were taken to an animal hospital and are expected to survive.

Police say officers also found a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire.

No arrests have been made at this time.
