The MCM Mirum capsule collection from German luxury fashion brand MCM spotlights the use of an innovative, plastic-free, vegan alternative to animal leather. Mirum is a premium material created by biomaterials company Natural Fiber Welding using virgin natural materials and repurposed agricultural by-products like natural rubber, plant oils and waxes, natural pigments, and minerals. Additionally, the alternative material is free from fossil fuels, and water-free to support a more sustainable fashion industry.
Remarkably, Mirum is the world’s first 100% recyclable and circular leather alternative. The eco-conscious luxury capsule collection makes the most of this material to reimage MCM’s iconic Himmel Shopper in two sizes in a timeless black colorway.
Now that MCM has produced designs with Mirum, it hopes to use it in more future releases.
