Picturing the Day – Pioneer Bank workers and shelter dogs

Employees of Pioneer Bank are shown at Roswell Animal Services on Thursday afternoon. One volunteer comforts a German Shepherd, while the other uses her mobile phone to capture images in an enclosed outdoor area next to the building. Two other volunteers from the bank stood outside this photograph and were positioned to keep the dog from moving around. They wanted some close-up images of the dog before they moved on to do the same with another one. These images are shared with local animal advocates and others interested in seeing these dogs find good homes. The photos and videos are posted online, including to social media sites, and ultimately will be shared with potential adopters — some of whom live out of state. The bank’s volunteers usually spend about an hour taking photos each week. The photo sessions also allow the dogs some time to be outside and receive human interaction, said Juliana Halvorson, vice president of marketing at Pioneer Bank and a Roswell City Council member. She was capturing video as well that afternoon. Pioneer Bank also carried out an animal adoption event earlier this month at the MainStreet Roswell Farmers’ Market.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
