Pharrell Williams let the dogs out for his Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2025 Men’s Pre-Collection, exploring the cosmopolitan culture of dogs and their owners. You know how it is – dog owners will literally do anything for their dogs, including dressing their canine companions in Louis Vuitton to mince around Le Marais, leisurely strolling the Lower East Side, and Strut through Sloane Square.
In a nod to the perfectly presented pooch walkers of NYC, Louis Vuitton’s Resort 2025 Menswear collection is an expression of a trans-seasonal casual wardrobe elevated by the preppy dress codes of English dog shows. The collection is broken down into chapters, with the first being an embellished Damier motif, that re-imagines the Maison’s chequers in the spirit of argyle. This is seen across suits, beige trench coats, and knitted jumpers.
In an embodiment of Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams’ own style which has historically seen preppy pieces worn alongside skate-style clothing, the Damier Argyle is seen on denim-lined puffer jackets, and matching skate shorts, with a standout Dalmatian pattern dotted across a shearling jacket in intarsia.
Skateboard P isn’t afraid of a statement bag, and this time around there’s a monogram leather French-bulldog bag in the mix which is pictured alongside an army of Afghan Hounds, Spaniels, and Collies. There’s also monogrammed and paw-emblemed Keepalls, Soul Trunks, Montsouris Messengers and hard-sided bags, in-keeping with the spirit of travel intrinsic to the House.
The second chapter of the collection explores the dog show theme through rosette-embroidered suits and Damier-jacquard navy tracksuits, ensuring everything from Crufts to Sunday morning cafe runs is covered. When it comes to footwear, there are Dog Collar Loafers, Damier-infused Mary Janes, and a reworked LV trainer.
And what would a Louis Vuitton collection be without the accessories? For its Resort SS25 Menswear collection, dog neckties, LV Super-Vision sunglasses, a massive monogrammed dog house, a leather dog bowl, and a leather poop-bag holder make up some of our faves – if there was ever a chic way of cleaning up after your good boy or girl, this would be it.
