Pet Helpers brings adoptable dogs at a Charleston elementary school

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Pet Helpers brought some furry animals to an elementary school in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week.

The team brought some adoptable dogs to visit Springfield Elementary School on Monday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The dogs offer serotonin boosts and puppy breaks for teachers to help deal with stress during the 2024-2025 school year.

Pet Helpers has brought dogs during finals week in the past to offer stress relief to students.

Here are the following highlights that Pet Helpers offered during the visit

  • Pet Helpers brings adoptable dogs to offer stress relief to teachers
  • Timed with Teacher Appreciation Week
  • Mental health benefits of pets tie into ongoing education challenges
  • Great visuals and interview potential
  • Possibility of surprise adoptions

Executive Director of Pet Helpers Melissa Susko said it only takes one thing to make someone’s day better.

“If we can bring a smile to someone’s day, even better. We love giving back to the community that supports us, and sometimes all it takes is one wagging tail to turn a tough day around, she said.”

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
