Paralyzed dog who survived cruelty returning to Kansas City shelter, needs permanent home

A dog who was paralyzed at the hands of his former owner has adapted to many challenges, but he faces a new one: He’s being returned to the shelter after life at his adopter’s home didn’t work out. Coffee Bean was just 5 months old when he first came to the Great Plains SPCA. At that point, he had suffered severe spinal trauma, which led to his hind legs being partially paralyzed and incontinence problems. His former owner was found guilty of animal cruelty. Coffee Bean now undergoes regular physical therapy and even has a custom wheelchair. Despite setbacks, the shelter said he “remains full of life,” and is plenty playful and loving with people and dogs. He was adopted, but now, he’s being returned back to the shelter. Due to his needs and special sensitivities, the shelter can be an uncomfortable and overwhelming place for a dog like him. “We’ve watched Coffee Bean flourish, he’s a truly special soul,” Great Plains SPCA CEO Tam Singer said in a news release. “The shelter is no place for a dog like him long-term. He needs a calm, loving home where he can be safe and continue to thrive.” Coffee Bean is waiting on his forever family and home.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
