Viewers are cracking up on social media after seeing a mail-stealing canine culprit, which led to someone leaving specific delivery instructions for packages.
A delivery driver known on TikTok as @firstclasswhiskers shares videos of the cats and dogs he sees while on his mail route, but one drop-off stood out to him because it ended up being a first. The package he showed in his October 4 clip had a note attached with specific instructions: Do not leave it in a spot accessible to the dog.
The dog, named Hank, must’ve gotten into the person’s packages before. To avoid that from happening again, the person knew it was time to start leaving instructions. The delivery driver got to the house, pulled out the package and saw the note, which differed from what the label said. It told him to leave the package on top of the blue car or trash can.
“I’m not sure how easy it is to tell in the video, but the people had the sender print that on a whole separate label, which I had never seen before,” the delivery driver told Newsweek via TikTok.
It all made sense once he opened the door. The culprit greeted him upon arrival with an innocent look, pretending he hadn’t been causing trouble. He held on to hope that this delivery driver wouldn’t know what to do with the package and that it would be left on the ground.
But, unfortunately for Hank, the package was set on top of the blue car. The owner outsmarted Hank, and his shenanigans with getting to the packages were over.
The caption reads: “Doggo acts nice but he’s up to no good.”
His mission to get the package had ended, but Hank, luckily, still got something out of it. The delivery driver offered him pets and not one but two treats, which he immediately accepted without hesitation.
“He was a good boy for sure,” he said.
The TikTok video amassed over 660,000 views and 48,500 likes as of Monday.
“Hank 100% hurt his foot jumping up to get into trouble,” said one viewer.
Others defended the dog, with one saying: “Hank is being framed! He’s innocent.”
Another added: “HANK IS INNOCENT. I will not stand for Hank slander.”
It wasn’t only the instructions that left people laughing. It was also how Hank quickly took the treats.
One person wrote: “I love the way he ran back from the 2nd treat like, ‘Oh OK if you insist.'”
