A puppy from the United Kingdom was fed up with his owner’s daughter traveling all the time, so he took matter into his own paws, and found the perfect way to stop her from leaving again.
A carousel of images shared on TikTok in September, under the username @missy.moo.kendrick, shows the 1-year-old pup. He is described as a shar-pei/boxer mix “full of energy and always tired at the same time,” chewing up the young woman’s passport, showing no remorse whatsoever.
“Hooman sister has been away to much this year, this is how I’m stopper her leaving again!! I heard her say to Dad she has only had it a year … But what do I care,” reads a caption shared with the clip.
The poster, Marc Kendrick, told Newsweek that Missy has a unique personality and said that she knows what she wants and will stop at nothing to get it.
“The passport was in my daughter’s bedroom on her dresser and on the floor were some snacks, but Missy opted to eat the passport instead. I was on a Teams call and then came to check on her and was shocked!” Kendrick said.
Destructive behavior is quite common in dogs, especially puppies, but that doesn’t mean it is fine. As the Humane Society of the United States’ website says, finding the cause behind their behavior is the key to address it.
Sometimes, puppies will act out because of pain while teething, and this behavior will usually get better as they get permanent teeth. Older dogs who carry on with this behavior may suffer from separation anxiety, social isolation, phobias, or even medical problems.
However, this could also be a cry for attention. Dogs know they will get your focus when they misbehave, and it doesn’t matter to them if it is negative.
While the passport was completely destroyed, the poster was lucky that his 22-year-old daughter, Harley, had no trips planned for the rest of the year, giving her plenty of time to get a new one before her next travels.

How to Address Destructive Behaviors in Dogs?
Veterinarians at Small Door Veterinary say that the way you can address your pup’s behavior depends on its underlying cause. It can generally be fixed with specific training aimed at changing your dog’s response to the stimulus that is causing the unwanted behavior.
Destructive behavior in dogs can be prevented by increasing their exercise and socialization levels, and giving them enough enrichment throughout the day so they won’t have the energy to misbehave.
The video has so far received over 834 views and 100 likes on TikTok, and users from across the platform can relate.
