Over 50 Shih Tzus rescued from Norridgewock home

NORRIDGEWOCK, Maine (WABI) – Officials says more than 50 dogs and a few cats were rescued from inhumane conditions at a home in Norridgewock.

The Morning Sentinel says Maine’s Animal Welfare program seized the animals, including more than 50 Shih Tzus.

We reached out to the state who confirmed they are investigating but could not provide any details.

They say 23 of the dogs were taken to The American Refuge League of Greater Portland, and another nine dogs and three cats were taken to the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk.

Midcoast Humane Society says they welcomed several dogs as well and ten of the dogs are already available for adoption there.

The shelter posted the dogs were very dirt matted and some had significant health issues.

We’ll update this story as soon as more information is available.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
