Organization to give away dog food in Lake Charles Friday

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – Southwest Louisiana pet parents will have a chance to grab a free bag of dog food and meet adoptable dogs Friday.

The St. Huckleberry Animal Fund is giving away 1,500 bags of Redbarn premium grain-free dog food from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Oak Park Square shopping center on Gerstner Memorial Drive.

Visitors can meet shelter dogs inside the building and enjoy Christmas cookies donated by L’Auberge Casino Resort.

Free events in the past three years have benefitted 4,500 pets in need and helped pet parents struggling in the wake of natural disasters and rising prices, St. Huckleberry founder Lori Dover said.

St. Huckleberry’s previous giveaway in Lake Charles provided food for 1,000 cats.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
