Only one city had more dog attacks on postal workers than Houston, according to USPS

Overall, Texas had the second most attacks behind California.

HOUSTON — The United States Postal Service is reporting a rise in dog attacks.

The new data shows that attacks on workers rose to more than 6,000 cases last year. That’s a jump of at least 200 cases since 2023.

Texas ranks second with more than 400 incidents, falling behind the 700 incidents in California. Once you take a closer look at the data, Houston had the second highest number of incidents right after Los Angeles.

The USPS is reminding dog owners that attacks are preventable. They recommend securing your dogs before your mail carrier arrives or keeping your dog on a leash.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
