One person, two dogs killed after being hit by car on Outer Banks

KITTY HAWK, N.C. (WITN) – A person and two dogs are dead after being hit by a car on the Outer Banks.

Kitty Hawk police say that it happened Wednesday night around 8:46 at the intersection of North Croatan Highway and White Street.

Police say an unidentified male was hit by a Honda Accord while walking his dogs and crossing North Croatan Highway at White Street.

We’re told that the person and the two dogs died at the scene.

Police say that the man behind the wheel of the car stayed at the scene and is cooperating.

There are no charges at this time as the crash remains under investigation.
