One dog killed in Buchanan house fire

BUCHANAN, Va. (WDBJ) – A house fire in the 8200 block of Springwood Road left one dog dead and another one injured on Saturday morning.

The Fincastle Volunteer Fire Department says they responded to the scene around 10:14 a.m. Engine 3 was the first to arrive at the scene, where smoke was visible from a trailer residence. Crews from Buchanan extinguished the fire, which was confined to the kitchen area.

Incident Command received reports that the homeowner might still be inside. Teams from Engine 3 and Wagon 4 conducted a thorough search of the house, discovering two dogs in the process.

Despite efforts from Ambulance 2 personnel, one of the dogs did not survive. The other dog received medical attention and is being monitored.

A secondary search confirmed no human occupants were present. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and there have been no reports of injuries to residents or emergency responders involved in the incident.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
