Old Blind Dogs of Aberdeen Scotland plan their US tour with multiple stops in Michigan, Ohio, Rhode Island, and New York. Then it’s 2 stops in Maine including Old South Church in Farmington March 17th and 49 Franklin in Rumford on March 18th. They then take off out west to the Celtic Fest Ceili at the Roadhouse in Wyoming, then on to Utah and Colorado.

The musical evolution of Old Blind Dogs began in Aberdeen in 1992 with roots that grew from the eclectic music scene that flourished in the Granite City during the early 90’s. Four musicians from very different musical backgrounds came together to create a full-time professional touring band with the aim of showcasing the rich tradition of songs and tunes of the North East of Scotland on an international stage.

Like many of the early flag bearing Scottish folk bands, the Old Blind Dogs line up has faced inevitable changes over the years but the core values at the band’s musical heart continue to beat strong. The current band line up has been settled for several years now and consists of four of Scotland’s finest traditional musicians at the top of their game. Aaron Jones (cittern/guitar/vocals), is joined by Elias Alexander (pipes/whistles) and Donald Hay (percussion/vocals). Original cofounder Jonny Hardie (fiddle/vocals) will unfortunately, not be able to make it to the United States because of Visa issues but, Old Blind Dogs are delighted to be joined by the brilliant fiddler Sarah Collins for this tour. Based in the Baltimore/DC area with deep roots in the Boston traditional music community, Sarah spent part of her childhood in Edinburgh and though she grew up immersed in the Scottish music scene, her playing today blends influences from the Scottish, Irish and Old-Time fiddle styles. OBD’s Aaron Jones says, “We are delighted to have her and she will be fantastic cover for Jonny”. Collectively they comprise one of the hottest live tickets on the traditional Scottish music scene today.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
