OKC shelter offers reduced and waived fees for dogs until June 14

Oklahoma City Animal Welfare is offering waived adoption fees for dogs six months and older to combat a recent influx of dogs.

Additionally, puppies under five months old will have a reduced adoption fee of $30.

These offers last through Saturday, June 14.

“Oklahoma City Animal Welfare has been operating at or above capacity for several years,” said OKC Animal Shelter Superintendent Ronnie Schlabs. “To ensure the health and well-being of the animals in our care and to maintain a sustainable shelter environment, we are asking the community to help us place as many dogs as possible this week. Currently, we have 175 dogs ready to find their forever homes.”

All adopted dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, vaccinated, dewormed, and sent home with a collar and ID tag.

If you are unable to adopt, OKC Animal Welfare is also seeking fosters. Sign up to foster here.

Adoptions began daily at noon. OKC Animal Welfare is located at 2811 SE 29th Street.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
