OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) – Officers shot three unrestrained pitbulls in Ocala while responding to reports of “aggressive” dogs early Wednesday morning.
Ocala Police Department officials say they responded to a home on Southeast 42nd Road and encountered three dogs acting aggressively.
Officers watched the dogs while waiting for Marion County Animal Control. A jogger approached the scene and when officers told the person to turn back, the dogs charged the officers.
The officers fired on the dogs, killing all three. No people were hurt.

The two officers involved were assigned to administrative work while the incident is reviewed. The department released the following statement:
