Officers rescue 101 dogs living in ‘egregious’ conditions at alleged puppy mill

RALEIGH, N.C. (CNN) – More than 100 dogs were rescued from an apparent North Carolina puppy mill.

According to the SPCA of Wake County, a person notified authorities in Raleigh about chickens on a property living in poor conditions.

Animal control officers ended up finding 101 dogs that were living inside the home in conditions described as “egregious.” Some of them were in cages with up to six dogs stacked to the ceiling.

Officers said other dogs were also found wandering loose through unsanitary conditions.

Most of the pups were Pomeranians and Yorkshire terriers, along with “doodle” mixes. Some were pregnant or nursing puppies.

Officials said the recovered dogs are being evaluated and treated by veterinarians before they are put up for adoption.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
