An officer in South Dallas shot two dogs after an animal attack early Saturday, police say.
Officers responded just before 5 a.m. to the 5100 block of Bexar Street, near Brigham Lane.
Investigators found that someone had been bitten by the dogs, police said. Dallas Fire-Rescue took the wounded person to a hospital with injuries police called “non-life-threatening.”
When officers went to meet with the dog owner, the dogs tried to attack an officer. That officer shot both dogs and they died, according to police.
No officers were injured and an investigation is ongoing. Police did not provide any additional details about the investigation, including whether any charges could be filed in connection with the attack.
