Alexandria is gearing up for two exciting dog-centric events this weekend.

The ALX Dog Walk kicks off the weekend on Saturday at Oronoco Bay Park. From 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., dog owners and their pets can enjoy a 2-mile riverside stroll, live performances by the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra and Alexandria Singers, and a sustainability festival. Event organizers are enthusiastic about the upcoming gathering, promising “a great morning for you and your four-legged friends.”

Sunday marks the return of the Del Ray Dog Fest. Now in its third year, the event occurs at the George Washington Middle School parking lot from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This outdoor celebration features dog-focused activities, special menu items for pups, live music, vendors, and food options. The Del Ray Dog Fest isn’t just about fun – it also supports a good cause. Proceeds from the event go to Pawfectly Delicious Dog Treats, an organization that provides job training and meaningful work opportunities for adults with disabilities.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
