LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Officials with the Lexington Fire Department say no one was home when they arrived at the scene of a house fire in the 800 block of Marblehead Dr. Saturday morning.
Battalion Chief Matt Galati said a neighbor reported seeing smoke just after 11 a.m.
Galati said when firefighters arrived, they found a significant amount of fire inside.
Two dogs died as a result of the fire. Another dog and a turtle were alive when they were removed from the home.
Galati said the fire caused extensive damage to the home.
No Lexington Fire Department personnel injuries were reported.
Fire investigators also responded to the scene.
