Newbury man in frozen pond 20+ minutes before rescue after dogs fall through ice

NEWBURY, Ohio (WOIO) – A helicopter took a man to the hospital after he jumped into a frozen pond to save his dogs.

According to the Newbury Volunteer Fire Department (NVFD), firefighters were called to the 11000 block of Music Street just after 4 p.m. Sunday.

The NVFD said the man’s two dogs fell through the ice of the frozen pond and the man, in his 60s, went in after the dogs.

The man was in the icy water for over 20 minutes before firefighters were able to get on scene and rescue him and the two dogs.

The NVFD said the man was conscious and talking when the helicopter took him to the hospital.

There is no updated word yet on the man’s, or his dogs’, conditions.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
