Neena Gupta, renowned for her impressive performances in films and web shows, has recently shared screen space with a dog named Moti in ‘Dil Dosti Aur Dogs‘. This film marks a unique collaboration where she plays an emotionally withdrawn woman who finds companionship with Moti.
The actress revealed that Moti had his mood swings, making certain scenes unpredictable. In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, she said, “It is very difficult to work with a dog, no matter how well-trained they are, as their caretaker can command them to sit, stand, stop, or move. This makes it challenging when you’re delivering dialogue, as the caretaker’s commands can interrupt. Acting with a dog is very difficult and requires a lot of patience because, ultimately, a dog will not follow your instructions.”
She discussed the challenges of working with a dog, stating that no matter how much training they receive, a dog’s behavior can be unpredictable. She highlighted the need for patience, as a dog cannot be forced to perform like a human. During filming, she would often wait for the dog to come to her and take a ball, but sometimes he wouldn’t, making it difficult. Neena also expressed her distress over the rising cases of animal abuse, describing them as heartbreaking and unacceptable. She believes that those who harm animals are mentally disturbed, as normal people cannot commit such acts.
‘Dil Dosti Aur Dogs’ stars Sharad Kelkar, Tridha Choudhury, Tinnu Anand, and others. The story follows a couple who adopt a dog to improve their marriage and another family who does the same to cope with personal issues. It is directed by Viral Shah and produced by Jio Studios and The Creative Tribe.
