The SPCA Serving Erie County rescued 22 dogs from deplorable conditions in Williamsville.
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. — The SPCA Serving Erie County Investigations team rescued several dogs from a home in Williamsville on Monday, and eight more dogs were brought to the SPCA Tuesday.
Officials says the dogs, which appear to be Shih Tzu/Poodle mixes, were living in deplorable conditions. The SPCA says the dogs were covered in urine and feces, and that their fur matted. The dogs will have to be sedated and shaved. Afterwards, they will be examined, receive any necessary treatments as well as bathed.
All 22 dogs have been signed over to the SPCA Serving Erie County
The SPCA says they are not releasing the name of the owner, but say they are receiving assistance from family members and they are cooperating in the investigation.
The SPCA is accepting donations to contribute to the care of the dogs. You can donate here: YourSPCA.org/AprilRescue.
At this time, there’s no information on when the dogs may be placed up for adoption.
