HERE ARE YOUR FACTS – FIRST – AT – 4… THIS WEEK’S SNOW STORM WAS EXCITING FOR MANY, BUT ALSO SOMETHING FOLKS IN OUR COMMUNITY WERE NOT PREPARED FOR. IF YOU’VE BEEN OUT DRIVING TODAY, YOU MAY HAVE SEEN MORE PEOPLE ON THE ROAD DESPITE THE STILL ICY CONDITIONS. CHATHAM EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT TELLS US THE 911 CENTER HANDLED A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF INCIDENTS DURING THE STORM… THEY SAY THE MOST COMMON STORM RELATED CALLS INCLUDED REPORTS OF ROAD HAZARDS – LIKE DANGEROUS CONDITIONS ON BRIDGES AND ROADWAYS, STRANDED VEHICLES STUCK ON BRIDGES OR IN DITCHES, REQUESTS FOR MOTORIST ASSISTANCE, AND MULTIPLE VEHICLE ACCIDENTS CAUSED BY ICY CONDITIONS. GARDEN CITY POLICE TELL WJCL NEWS – THEY HAVE INDEED SEEN MORE CARS ON THE HIGHWAYS AND STREETS TODAY THAN ANYTIME SINCE THE STORM. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT’S BROUGHT WITH IT *MORE ACCIDENTS — MAINLY BECAUSE OF LOSING CONTROL DUE TO THE CONDITIONS. “WE JUST WE WOULD LIKE PEOPLE TO SLOW DOWN, TAKE THEIR TIME AND GET THERE SAFELY. WE’VE HAD SEVERAL ROLLOVERS TODAY. YOU CAN GET SIDEWAYS, YOU CAN HIT THE BANK OF ICE, IT CAN FLIP YOUR CAR.” MAJOR HOOD ALSO TELLS WJCL – WHILE THERE HAVE BEEN MORE ACCIDENTS TODAY, MOST OF THOSE INVOLVE JUST A SINGLE VEHICLE — AND THERE HAVEN’T BEEN ANY SERIOUS INJURIES. TAKING A LIVE LOOK AT FLIGHT ACTIVITY .. AT THE SAVANNAH AIRPORT RIGHT NOW. AND IT LOOKS LIKE .. ITS BACK TO BUSINESS AS USUAL TODAY. WJCL 22 NEWS’ JAYDA RUSSELL .. JOINS US NOW LIVE FROM THE AIRPORT. AND JAYDA, HAS IT BEEN A BUSY DAY? IT LOOKS BUSY BUT AS I SPOKE SOME STAFF MEMBERS, IT’S BEEN THEIR REGULAR SIZED CROWD. YESTERDAY, THERE WAS ONLY ONE PLANE OUT ON THE TARMAC AND TODAY YOU CAN SEE SEVERAL OTHERS IN POSITION TO BOARD PASSENGERS. THE DEPARTURES DROP OFF WAS ALSO BARREN AND NOW THERE’S FOLKS IN AND OUT… PLENTY OF FOOT TRAFFIC TODAY. SOME AIRLINES ARE ABLE TO CONTINUE THEIR SCHEDULED FLIGHTS AND A FEW ARE STILL IN A HOLDING PATTERN FOR A DAY OR TWO. STAFF SAY THAT THE AIRLINES ULTIMATELY MAKE THAT CHOICE OF ARRIVING AND DEPARTING TO A CERTAIN STOP. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT IN THESE SITUATIONS, AIRLINES WILL BOOK THE NEXT POSSIBLE FLIGHT FOR PASSENGERS AFFECTED BY THE CLOSURES. SOMETIMES THAT CAN LOOK LIKE AN OPEN SEAT ON ANOTHER FLIGHT OR AIRLINES ACCOMODATE BY MOVING TO A LARGER AIRCRAFT. THERE’S A LOT OF MOVING PARTS TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN, BUT THE AIRPORT SEEMS TO BE BACK IN FULL SWING TODAY! YOU’LL HEAR FROM THE DIRECTOR OF SERVICE DEVELOPMENT COMING UP AT 5, BACK TO YOU IN THE STUDIO. THANK YOU JAYDA FOR THOSE NEW DETAILS. RIGHT NOW AT 4– ONE MAN IS DEAD AS A RESULT OF A STRUCTURE FIRE IN SAVANNAH LAST NIGHT… IT ALL HAPPENED ON MILLEN STREET IN SAVANNAH AROUND 9 LAST NIGHT… POLICE SAY THEY RESPONDED TO THE SCENE AND IMMEDIATELY STARTED WORKING TO CLEAR THE BUILDING AND EXTINGUISH THE FIRE… CREWS THEN SEARCHED THE ABANDONED BUILDING AND FOUND THE VICTIM. AFTER ATTEMPTING LIFE SAVING MEASURES – HE SUCCUMBED TO HIS INJURIES AT THE SCENE. ACCORDING TO SAVANNAH POLICE … EXAMINATION OF THE BODY SHOWED NO EARLY SIGNS OF TRAUMA OR FOUL PLAY. THEY’RE BACK! The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
