NCCR Dog Of Week Is Mac

Mac

The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue Dog of the Week is Mac, a 3-year-old neutered male husky/shepherd mix who weighs around 70 pounds. He is fully house trained, and able to be left alone in the house. He is good with children, adults and other dogs. He has not interacted with cats and other animals so not sure how he will respond to those. He is a homebody that likes to be with people and always wants to be near people. He’s a loving dog who will be fast friends with a scratch behind the ears. Mac will get on his hind legs to give hugs if signaled, likes to go for walks but requires a harness to help with pulling. His favorite toys are ropes to play tug of war with. He will also play with a ball, but he likes to play keep away. Mac knows basic commands and will walk behind someone up and down stairs instead of running past them. He isn’t afraid of loud noises or thunderstorms, but a green garbage bin is his worst enemy. Because Mac is so much of a homebody, he hasn’t done well with being left alone at the groomer or for boarding; the stress causes him to become sick, so has recently started anxiety medication to help with any stress in these situations. He is looking for a loving family who will be there for him and who won’t need to leave him in strange places too often. Mac is in a foster home and an appointment is required to meet him. Read about him and apply online at www.caninerescue.org. NCCR’s other available dogs can be visited in person at 7540 N. Gale Street in Westfield, or seen from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
