R&B musician Jaheim is in legal trouble again after recently being booked on charges of animal cruelty.
The “Put That Woman First” singer was arrested May 1 and charged with six counts of animal cruelty in Atlanta according to court documents obtained by Fox 5 Atlanta.
Jaheim, 47, is accused of not providing his six dogs with enough water, leaving them in unsanitary conditions and having insufficient ventilation, per the report. The documents identify the dogs — four pit bulls, a French bulldog and a mixed-breed hound — as Tweet, Tip, Taka, Tink, Timber and Tanger.
Additional court dates have yet to be announced for the singer.
The New Brunswick native, born Jaheim Hoagland, was released a day after being taken into custody.
Jaheim was charged with third-degree animal cruelty and failure to provide necessary care to an animal in 2022.
The “Just in Case” singer was alleged to have starved fifteen dogs at his Hillsborough home shortly after Hurricane Ida. One of the dogs was found unresponsive and had to be euthanized. The remaining dogs were later put up for adoption.
The three-time Grammy nominee released his debut album, “Ghetto Love,” in 2001 before rising to fame with his sophomore project, “Still Ghetto,” in 2002. The second album contained hits “Put That Woman First” and “Fabulous” which propelled the project to achieve platinum status. His seventh and most recent album, “Struggle Love,” was released in 2016.
