The bowls, placed outside Chalkwell Shelter by Chalkwell Lifeguards Club, had become a welcome refreshment stop for dogs out enjoying the sunny weather – until three mysteriously disappeared.
The stolen bowls, kindly sponsored by animal lovers in the area Chrissy and Ashley Nichols of Unity In Community, have sparked confusion and frustration among regular promenade visitors.

With the warm weather dogs out for a walk along Chalkwell Promenade have become “very appreciative” of the cool, fresh water.
A spokesman for Chalkwell Lifeguards Club said: “One minute the dog bowls were there full of lovely fresh cool water, the next minute they had all up and vanished on different days like a feather in the wind.
“We are appealing for the three stolen dog water bowls to be returned as soon as possible so that all the local dogs can be happy and well hydrated and healthy once again.”
