LAKEPORT, Calif. — On Monday, March 31, Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit said they were able to rescue two dogs and get ‘knock down’ on a residential fire in conjunction with the Lakeport Fire District.
Cal Fire Sonoma said on Facebook that when Lakeport firefighters arrived at the scene, they reported a working residential fire with two dogs trapped inside the structure.
Lakeport Fire District was able to rescue the two dogs and get knocked down on the fire while firefighters from the Kelsey-Cobb station assisted with salvage, overhaul, and providing medical care to the dogs.
Cal Fire Sonoma said the condition of the dogs significantly improved once they received oxygen through special dog rescue masks, and they were released to their owner.
Cal Fire Sonoma thanked all fire personnel involved,
Great job and great teamwork by all of the firefighters at this incident!
