Multiple people injured when ‘aggressive’ dogs get loose at Madison Kwik Trip

Ten dogs got loose and attacked customers at a Kwik Trip on American Parkway in Madison on Monday.

Multiple people were bitten after numerous “aggressive” loose dogs attacked customers and authorities at a Kwik Trip gas station Monday, according to Madison police.

Police said in a news release the incident took place shortly after 6:30 p.m. at the Kwik Trip located at 4825 American Parkway in Madison following a report that 10 dogs were loose.

Upon arrival, Madison police officers observed numerous loose dogs engaging citizens and numerous officers needed to help, according to police.

Due to the “aggressive nature” of the dogs, officers used pepper spray, police said.

After about two hours, all the dogs were secured and conveyed to the Dane County Humane Society.

Police said eight people were bitten, including a police sergeant and firefighter, but no injuries are considered serious.

A woman responsible for the animals was issued 15 municipal citations and received one criminal offense referral. That same woman was also cited in a previous incident where her dogs attacked two Monona police officers in March 2024, a Madison police spokesperson told 27 News.
