2:20 P.M. UPDATE: Jurors are about to deliver their verdict Thursday in the case of a mother-son duo whose dogs attacked and killed a woman in Pickaway County.

ABC 6’s Kate Siefert reported just before 2:15 p.m. that the jury had reached a verdict and that it would be read in court in the next 30 minutes or so. ABC 6 is expecting to stream the verdict announcement right here on this page at that time.

ORIGINAL REPORTING: Susan Withers and her son, Adam Withers, were charged with involuntary manslaughter last fall after their two pit bulls mauled and killed their neighbor, 73-year-old Jo Echelbarger.

A jury was seated Monday and after just a couple days of testimony, the jury got the case Wednesday afternoon.

Prosecutors had argued that the dogs were dangerous and their owners were negligent. Police had testified that the front door of the Witherses’ home did not close or lock properly.

Susan Withers’ attorney argued that nobody had testified that her client had let the dogs out. Adam Withers’ attorney argued that someone had to have let the dogs out of the house and there is no evidence that his client did that.

This story will be updated once the verdict is read and will include reaction as soon as we get it.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
