Mother and son face court for deadly dog attack in Ashville

Susan Withers, 61, and her son, Adam Withers, 35, are set to appear in Pickaway County Common Pleas Court this morning for their arraignment on amended charges related to a deadly dog attack.

The charges include involuntary manslaughter, confining, restraining, and debarking dogs.

The incident occurred on October 17, when 73-year-old Jo Echelbarger was attacked by the Withers’ dog and died from cardiac arrest due to injuries sustained in the mauling.

A second dog owned by the Withers then attacked another woman, resulting in the death of her dog.

An Asheville police officer testified that Pickaway County officials were familiar with Adam Withers and his dogs prior to the October attacks.

Authorities had previously responded to an incident where one of Withers’ dogs attacked a woman, killing her 12-week-old puppy.

The Withers’ trial is scheduled for February 10.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
