Mother accused of burning family dogs to death arrested after 11-year-old son calls 911

HENDERSON, Texas (KLTV/Gray News) – A Texas woman has been arrested after deputies say her 11-year-old son called them and claimed she was burning the family dogs.

Rusk County deputies say an 11-year-old boy called about 1 p.m. Saturday and said his mother told him she believed he “was the devil” and was in the middle of burning the family dogs, KLTV reports.

While deputies were on their way to the family’s Henderson home, a second call came in at 1:04 p.m. from a neighbor who said a woman came to their home with blood on her hands, claiming “her parents had been killed.”

Authorities arrived at 1:08 p.m. and found 32-year-old Veronica Loredo in a vehicle with four children between the ages of 1 and 11. Deputies say they also found the remains of the dogs in a fire burning in front of the Loredo home.

Loredo was arrested and has been charged with two counts of cruelty to non-livestock animals and four counts of endangering a child. Her total bond has been set at $400,000.

Rusk County Sheriff Johnwayne Valdez was unable to comment about the incident but did say Child Protective Services is also investigating.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
