Morrilton basketball scores victory in face of tragedy

MORRILTON, Ark. — The Morrilton High School boys basketball team is currently mourning the loss of one of their own.

CJ Clemons wore the #3 jersey and played guard for the Morrilton Devil Dogs.

The South Conway County School District confirmed the news of his passing via a post on social media.

“Our hearts go out to the student’s family, friends, and all those affected by this tragic loss,” the district said in a statement.

On Tuesday evening, the Devil Dogs played against the Pulaski Academy Bruins. The game was tied until Morrilton’s Isaiah Templeton hit a game-winning layup with six seconds left.

After the game ended, the Devil Dogs gathered in a circle in prayer.

“Keep CJ in your prayers,” said the announcer over a loudspeaker.

The district is now offering on-campus counseling services to anyone in need.

The Morrilton Devil Dogs won against the PA Bruins 57-55.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
