WAGONER COUNTY, Okla. — Oklahoma Alliance for Animals is working with the Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office to rescue more than 20 dogs in unlivable conditions at an animal rescue.
Oklahoma Alliance for Animals said on March 4, deputies contacted the nonprofit regarding 17 dogs belonging to a woman who was reportedly in critical condition in the hospital and preparing to move to Alaska for family care.

WCSO told Oklahoma Alliance for Animals the dogs were being fed through a woman with Badges and Paws and suggested the nonprofit to contact her.
Oklahoma Alliance for Animals said they did not receive a response after multiple attempts to contact her.
WCSO gave the nonprofit permission to enter the property and help the dogs.

Oklahoma Alliance for Animals found the property was connected to Nana’s Place, an animal rescue in Wagoner County.
A Tulsa resident told Oklahoma Alliance for Animals she had recently surrendered 12 of the dogs to Nana’s Place, without realizing the full scope of the situation.
Oklahoma Alliance for Animals said the dogs are on the property with no running water, no electricity and no safe shelter.
The nonprofit is asking for donations to help put the dogs in safe living conditions. Boarding costs are $15 for each dog everyday, requiring over $300 a day to keep each dog safe and fed.
