More than 100 handbags handed in to BCP Council

The donations are filled with essentials and luxuries to support women who are victims of domestic abuse.

The initiative was started by the family of Grace Millane, who was murdered in 2018 while travelling in New Zealand.

BCP Council is the first in the south west to carry out the campaign.

The authority’s spokesman said: “We have received over 100 donated bags filled with toiletries and essential items since the campaign launched in December.

“The bags will be going to local women who are victims of domestic abuse to remind them that there are people out there who care about them, and that they do matter.”

Drop off points are at Poole Old Town Family Hub, Monday to Thursday 9am to 4.30pm and Friday 9am to 4pm.

Kinson Community Centre, Monday to Friday 9am to 9pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 3pm.

And Christchurch Library, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm.

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
