CEDAR COUNTY, Iowa — Thirty-two dogs were removed from an unlicensed Cedar County breeder last week, less than two years after 30 other dogs were removed from the same location.
The Animal Rescue of League of Iowa (ARL) says some of the 32 dogs removed on June 6, needed medical treatments, some even needed surgery. Other dogs arrived in need of behavioral care.
Iowa’s News Now has reached out to the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office to see if any charges have been filed in the case.
The ARL of Iowa says their dog kennels are full with more than 1,200 animals in their care. The shelter is asking for donations to helps support the new dogs in their care.
Donations can be made online or by mail/in-person (5452 NE 22nd St., Des Moines, IA 50313; RE: Cedar County rescue).
