Moon By Moon – “Dogs” | Post-Trash Video Premiere

by Pat Pilch (@apg_gomets)

Moon By Moon is the Philly-based lunar rock project of Gabrielle Franks and Etai Fuchs. The duo’s debut full length is out July 11, and this is your preliminary warning. Today, we’re thrilled to premiere Moon By Moon’s “Dogs,” the first single and video from It’s So Nice In Here, Don’t You Think So?

Three years out from “Raining Punches,” Moon By Moon feels like a different band. “Dogs” is Moon By Moon expanded, their sound waxing before our ears, slipping out the door and into the night. Our narrator finds themselves “On the bus, like barking dogs / Trying to fight off all the noise / Quiet things families avoid.” It’s a peaceful moment of escape, the calm after some domestic storm.

Moon By Moon began in 2018 through Gabrielle Franks and Etai Fuchs’ shared love of projects like Mount Eerie, Frankie Cosmos, and more. Since the pandemic, Moon By Moon has appeared on and organized various benefit compilations through their DIY label Gardenhead Records.

It’s So Nice In Here, Don’t You Think So? is out on July 11. Listen to and watch the Sabrina Nichols-directed video for “Dogs” below:

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
