IRON MOUNTAIN LAKE, Mo., (KBSI) — A Missouri conservation agent was severely injured by dogs and multiple people were arrested after a confrontation Wednesday.
The agent was patrolling Iron Mountain Lake on April 24 when they contacted Janet Shy, 66, and her daughter Megan Stroup, 36, about safety equipment issues.
Stroup, who had outstanding warrants, fled on foot, and Shy interfered, trying to pull the agent away. Several dogs then attacked the agent, causing severe injuries, and also bit Shy.
The agent was treated at the scene and transported to the hospital. Shy fled but was later found, treated for a dog bite and taken into custody.
A K-9 unit tracked down Stroup, who resisted arrest and was treated for minor injuries before being taken into custody.
The dogs’ owner, Susan Adams, 60, was also arrested on outstanding warrants.
Charges have been requested against Stroup and Shy, including assault on a special victim and resisting arrest.
