Missing women died after falling into freezing lake while walking dog on Christmas Eve

A missing Danvers woman’s body was found in Wenham Lake in Beverly after she had been walking her dog near the lake on Christmas Eve and didn’t return.

Owen Kasozi, 30, was walking her dog in J.C. Phillips Nature Preserve at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve but never returned. Beverly Police Department, Beverly Fire Department, the Massachusetts State Police, the state police Airwing unit, and the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC) began looking for the woman.

The dog was located without Kasozi Tuesday night in Topsfield.

On Christmas, authorities said Kasozi was found dead in Wenham Lake.

Police believe Kasozi fell into the freezing lake and was unable to get herself out. No foul play is suspected.

“This is not the search outcome that anyone was hoping for,” said Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker. “We appreciate the efforts of all our law enforcement partners who worked diligently over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to locate Owen Kasozi. Our thoughts are with her family as they begin to cope with this painful loss.”

The Favicon for the website, dogsandpurses(dot)com, features an all-black background with a minimalist line drawing of a puppy's head poking out of a stylish purse. The puppy's head is drawn with a cute and friendly expression, making it the focal point of the design. The purse, which the puppy is emerging from, is depicted with clean, elegant lines. The contrast between the black background and the white line drawing creates a striking and modern look for the Favicon.
