Missing southern Indiana man, dog found dead near Corydon, police say

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A southern Indiana man was found dead after he was reported missing.

Friday, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of Highway 62 and Harrison Springs Road near Corydon to search for 77-year-old Joe Rothrock of Jeffersonville.

He was reported missing after he was last seen by his family Wednesday. Authorities located his car at a family campsite on Blue River.

After an extensive search using tracking dogs, drones and kayaks, they ended up finding him and his dog dead in the river Saturday morning.

Police said there are no signs of foul play but an autopsy is pending and an investigation is underway.
